Great list! I read The Greatest Knight last year and LOVED it - I hope you do, too. I also really hope you enjoy the Penman novel. Have you read any of her books before? She is one of the best historical fiction writers out there today. I'll be reading her novel Devil's Brood in early January.

I'm looking forward to following your progress.

To Susan Holloway Scott -- Thank you for visiting my blog! I'm looking forward to reading your novels and will be delighted to post my thoughts in the near future. I'm honored by your visit.

Avid Reader - I enjoyed Penman's The Sunne in Splendour this year, and I've had Here Be Dragons on my TBR list FOREVER -- it's time to get that baby read! I also loved Chadwick's For The King's Favor and can't wait to read more of her novels. Love hearing all the good books everyone is planning to read!

Great list - I've enjoyed quite a few of these, both of the Chadwick novels and Nefertiti, plus Island of the Swans - the last is a tad too close to historical romance for my taste, but a very good one if you're into romance! I need to work some of these into my own TBR list - must get around to The Far Pavilions. And having read other novels by Sharon Kay Penman and Susan Holloway Scott, I'd say you can't go wrong with those authors.
