The World of Downton Abbey by Jessica Fellowes
A lavish look at the real world--both the secret history and the behind-the-scenes drama--of the spellbinding Emmy Award-winning Masterpiece TV series Downton Abbey
"April 1912. The sun is rising behind Downton Abbey, a great and splendid house in a great and splendid park. So secure does it appear that it seems as if the way it represents will last for another thousand years. It won't."
Millions of American viewers were enthralled by the world of Downton Abbey, the mesmerizing TV drama of the aristocratic Crawley family--and their servants--on the verge of dramatic change. On the eve of Season 2 of the TV presentation, this gorgeous book--illustrated with sketches and research from the production team, as well as on-set photographs from both seasons--takes us even deeper into that world, with fresh insights into the story and characters as well as the social history.

This has become my absolute favorite series. I just discovered it a few months ago- and watched through the entire first season on Netflix- now I've set my DVR to record all episodes of season two as they appear.
I'm sure this book is delightful- makes for a great coffee table book!!
I have been loving Downton Abbey. The book looks wonderful, I am sure there are lots of great pics in it that I would love to look at!
Okay. I want this book. So, I'm going to order it :-)
Thanks for featuring this one, Joanne.
My hubby left today to go snowmobiling for the weekend so guess what I will be doing? Yep, watching Downton Abbey!!
Hey, y'all -- it's been a long time since I've been this wrapped up in a series! Ordered season 1 on dvd to enjoy all over again while waiting for season 2 weekly episodes!
I watched the first season of it last week. I LOVE it!!
I think I have a crush on Mr. Bates. His budding romance with Anna just melts my heart!
I have a copy of this book that I've been flipping through...haven't really dived in yet since I'm leery of Season 2 spoilers. :)
Hi Joanne - can you do me a favour and make sure you can still post on my blog? I have switched back to embedded comments to take advantage of the new reply feature (it doesn't work with the pop-up comment box). But you had trouble posted with embedded previously, and since you're a regular visitor I want to make sure you can still post :-)
Looking forward to watching episode 2 of Downton tonight!!
