Is this going to be the last book in the series? I have books six and seven sitting on my shelf, but I've decided not to read them until all the books have been released -- if (and don't hate me) I read them at all. I lost interest in the series after the fifth book.

Hi, Melissa -- Diana Gabaldon has emphatically stated that this will NOT be the last book in the series. And as much as I love this series, I'll admit to you also, Melissa, that my interest is waning. I only hope I live long enough to see it through to the end, only because I want to learn all the puzzle pieces (we are discovering more and more about the time travel aspects) and how it all comes full circle. I found A Breath of Snow and Ashes filled with anguishing events that were very difficult to read, and the last one was disjointed and had too much of the Lord John storyline (which I like the least). I hope this new installment picks up the pace!

Yay! Although like you I am not as keen on the later books as I was for the earlier books! I have said before that the early books were chock full of fantastic scenes with a little bit of filler. The later books are chock full of filler with a few fantastic scenes!

Oh, yes, Marg -- I ADORE the first 5 books in the series! As a matter of fact, I started this blog to find good books to fill in the time waiting for the next Diana Gabaldon book! I've read them over and over and never get tired of Jamie and Claire!

The Outlander series is my absolute favorite. I'm 'patiently' waiting for this release.
