What's in a Name? I need your help!

I've been thinking about changing my blog name for a very long time, and I think it's time to have a chat with my faithful followers (and newbies, of course).

When I first started my blog, I had a vision of writing a creative blog that posted about some of my hobbies such as reading, scrapbooking, creative projects, and other interests....thus, each post would be a little "slice of life" or "a little part of me." The blog evolved into strictly a book blog and I feel it's time for a name change. I'm also picking up a book here and there for review for publishers and authors, and I think the blog name should be more indicative of books.

Now I'm not going to do anything drastic like changing the URL, so hopefully I won't lose any followers and my readers won't have to do a thing except remember the blog name change.....everything visually will stay the same and the content will remain with just a different title. I'll still be posting as "Joanne" in my comments. Simple. (I think - I Hope!)

Here's where I would like your help. I like my header and have studied it for inspiration. I thought about what all the books that I read have in common......they are all mostly set in the past with heroines (or belles), and they all have heroes (or beaux). So I've come up with a few names and I'd like to get your feedback.

Which blog name do you like?

A) Books, Belles & Beaux

B) Belles & Beaux Book Reviews

C) Belle of the Ball Book Reviews

D) Don't do it! I suffer from CRS and will not remember the name change! Keep Slice of Life.

Thanks for your input!

Well, I think Slice of Life is a fun name but if you're going to change it, I love your ideas. I think my favorite is A - Books, Belles & Beaux - it rolls off the tongue nicely! :)

I like A too. It's a great title.

Thanks for your thoughts, Ruth! Nothing is definite yet -- it may very well stay Slice of Life, but I love getting your feedback. :)

Thanks Miss Moppet!

I like the first one too. But then I'm no help, I like SLICE OF LIFE too. After all, books are 'slices' of life if you think about it.

But I can see you wanting to make it more of a 'booky' name.

That's my problem I see both sides of every issue. It's a curse. Ha!

How about BELLE OF THE BOOK

I like it.

I like A!

Ooooh, I'm loving everybody's suggestions.....keep them coming!

Yvette -- I know what you mean about always seeing two sides to every issue.....I'm a Libra and all my life I've been cursed with having to weigh out and balance decisions!

Looks like "A" is in the lead!

I vote for B!

Honestly that's how my blog started out too and why it's called Life in the Thumb...because it was just about my life living in the thumb of Michigan. But like yours it evolved into mostly a book blog. I like Slice of Life....I knew what type of blog it was immediately just by your content. But if I had to choose..I would go with A.

well I'm late in 'weighing in'- but I'll throw my two cents in (for what it is worth)-- one thing which made me click on the link to your blog in the first place was the name "Slice of Life" ...but I do understand when you feel the need to make changes- It seems everyone likes "A"- it does roll off the tongue- having said that, I do prefer "C"

Thanks everyone for joining in and letting me know your thoughts!

"A" was my first choice, and I'm happy to select "Books, Belles, & Beaux" as the new name! I like it!

Happy reading!
